Sermon: Shall I Continue?

Here’s a brief excerpt from the sermon, with a link to the full audio immediately thereafter:

Shall we continue in sin? God forbid.

A pastor sees that one of the most painful parts of counseling is of spouses and families complaining of their husband or wife, or children of their parents. Never change. He was insensitive when I married him. Five years later he’s just as insensitive. Twenty years–still insensitive. She’s still selfish.

This member of our family has this guise when they’re in church, but I know what it’s going to be like when we go home. They turn into a critical person–complain about this, gossip about that.

Used to be tardy–still tardy. Used to be unreliable–still unreliable. Used to be lazy–still lazy.

This is . . . is the travesty of Christianity: for people to be comfortable continuing in sin.
